GWO First Aid

The GWO First Aid Wind Turbine course outlines the basic safety training and competence recommended by industry for personnel involved with work on a wind turbine or any associated site. This course is certificated by the Global Wind Organisation.


The First Aid course covers the current GWO and RUK syllabus for the basic safety training, First Aid. The skills required and role of the first aider including the use of available equipment and the recording of incidents and actions are all covered in this course.

The training will give the individual the skills required to perform first aid safely and promptly in a working environment. The course uses realistic training scenarios delivered by highly experienced instructors.

Practical skills covered:
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation – CPR
Automatic Defibrillation (AED)
Primary survey and outcomes
Airway management of conscious/un-conscious casualty
Injury assessment and control of hemorrhaging

This course follows content as outlined in both GWO and Renewable UK First Aid syllabus.

Entry requirements:
There are no academic or technical prerequisites for attending this course.

Medical requirements:
Physical fitness with no contra-indications. A self-certified statement of reasonable medical fitness will be required prior to attendance.

1:12 Theory / 1:6 Assessment

Course cost:
£240.00 + VAT

The trainer will assess competence during practical work. Multiple choice written test with discussion.
